BAXTER CHAPEL - Albert Doyle Taubert, a dedicated industrial engineer and respected member of the Nashville medical community, passed away on May 22, 2026, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee at the age of 91. Born on August 5, 1934, in Rugby, Tennessee, he lived a life marked by professional achievement, service to his country, and a deep commitment to family and community.

Mr. Taubert was a proud veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict era, exemplifying the values of duty and honor. He pursued higher education with determination, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Tennessee Tech University. Following his graduation, he embarked on a notable career at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, where he contributed as an industrial engineer for many years until his retirement. His work there significantly supported the hospital’s operations and quality of care, reflecting his dedication and expertise in his field.

A man of varied interests, Albert was passionate about sports and race cars, a reflection of his energetic spirit and love of competition. He enjoyed traveling, target practice, and camping, activities that allowed him to experience the outdoors and create lasting memories. Above all, he cherished spending time with family and friends, holding these relationships as some of the most important aspects of his life. He attended Baxter First Church of God, where his faith and community involvement were pillars of his daily life.

Albert is survived by his sister, Ernestine Sharp of Knoxville, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews who remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Oscar and Ruby Esther Lawhorn Taubert, Sr.; his beloved wife of 62 years, Winnie Ruth Maxwell Taubert, who passed away in February 18, 2024; and his brothers, Arthur Oscar Taubert Jr. and Nelson Dale Taubert.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, 532 4th Ave. South, Baxter, TN 38544, with Bro. Eric Brown officiating.

Interment will follow at Maxwell-South Cemetery with Military Honors and Dennis Maxwell, Alton Maxwell, Raymond Maxwell, Michael Fleming, Patrick Evans and Dean Taubert serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Albert Doyle Taubert’s life was defined by his unwavering commitment to excellence, whether in his professional career, his service to his country, or his devotion to those he loved. His legacy endures through the lives he touched and the example he set. He will be remembered with respect and admiration by all who knew him.
