Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Maggie Aline Dyer, 91 of Cookeville and formerly of the Union Hill Community of Jackson County, will be held Wednesday August 6 at 1 p.m. in the Union Hill Cemetery. Pastor Donnie Davidson will officiate. Mrs. Dyer died Saturday afternoon August 2, 2014 in Signature Health Care of Putnam County. She was born June 20, 1923 in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late Amon M and Sara Ann Vinson Davidson. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Vestal Dyer; grandson, William "Bill" Edgar Halfacre III; three sisters, Inez Comer, Velma Burgess, and Vera Dyer; and two brothers, Houston Davidson and J D Davidson. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Ed Halfacre of Cookeville; son and daughter-in-law, Dr Michael and Terry Dyer of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Julie (Matthew) Eisenhower and Mark Dyer; four great grandchildren, Nicole Eisenhower, Brandon Eisenhower, Natalie Halfacre and Will Halfacre; granddaughter-in-law, Richelle Halfacre; and two sisters, Betty Medlin of Cookeville and Beatrice "Bea" Greenwood of Montgomery, AL. Mrs. Dyer's family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.
