Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Faye Hembree, 73, of Cookeville, will be held at 1pm Saturday, February 21 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Browns Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 – 8pm and again Saturday from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Hembree died Monday, February 16, 2015 at her home. She was born January 8, 1942 in Cookeville one of seven children to the late Eli and Velma West Phy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Hembree; brother, Franklin Phy; infant brother, Martin Phy; sister, Frances Moore, and brother-in-law, David Knight. Mrs. Hembree was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. She previously was a home health care giver. She enjoyed gardening and spending time tending her flowers. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 57 years, Don Hembree (whom she married January 9, 1958 in Cookeville); two sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Cindy Hembree of Cookeville, Tony and Lisa Hembree of Carthage; three sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Joe Sullivan of Spencer, TN, Betty Hill of Cookeville, and Geneva Hogue of Algood; sister-in-law, Jane Knight of Decatur, AL; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jerry Blair, Robert Huckeby, Bob Peters, Don Slate, Hershall Bush, and Roger Hogue. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
