Anna Ruth Cummins

DYER CHAPEL-Anna Ruth Jackson Cummins, a dedicated and compassionate individual known for her kindness and vibrant spirit, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Wyndridge Health & Rehab in Crossville, Tennessee at the age of 79. Born on April 5, 1947, in Cookeville, Tennessee, she lived a life marked by commitment to her family, her career, and her passions.

A graduate of Cookeville High School, Anna devoted much of her professional life to caring for others. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at NHC where she was known for her gentle touch and unwavering dedication to the well-being of her patients. Her career reflected her deep compassion and selfless nature, qualities that extended far beyond her professional life. She also formerly worked at Delbar Products, a factory in Cookeville. 

Anna was an avid pool player and an artist with a keen eye for painting, pursuits that brought her great joy and comfort throughout her life. She cherished spending time with family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Cleo and Ina Brown Jackson; her husbands, Johnny Keith and William "Bill" Morrison Cummins; her infant brother, James Lenard Jackson, and her sister, Kathy Allison.

Anna leaves behind her loving sister, Paulette Martin of Kentucky, along with her nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart: Adam Martin, Brandi Martin, and Brandon (Leslie) Letner. Her family and friends were an integral part of her world, providing joy, support, and connection.

Family, friends, and all who knew Anna are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Dyer Chapel, located at 798 South Willow Avenue, Cookeville, Tennessee. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Mike Palk officiating. Interment will follow in Edmund Dyer Cemetery.

Anna Ruth Cummins will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, her artistic talents, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her legacy of warmth and care will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her. In this time of sorrow, her family finds comfort in the enduring memories and the profound impact she made on their lives.
