Arthur Duran

Arthur Duran, 90 of Algood and Doyle, Tn. passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehab at Masters in Algood. The family has chosen cremation and burial will be at a later date in Illinois. Mr. Duran was born September 8, 1923 in Knox, Indiana to the late Albert and Minnie Scherer Duran. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a retired Engineer with Illinois Bell Telephone with over 40 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Tyler, Texas. He came to Doyle in October of 2012 to be close to a son. He loved to fish and play golf. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife Evelyn Smith Duran and a daughter Pamela Gau. Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law Jack and Lynn Duran of Doyle, TN., James and Robin Duran of Royal Palm Beach, FL, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
