Barbara Angel

BAXTER CHAPEL- Barbara Jean Angel, 73 of Baxter, was born May 26, 1952 in Madison Heights, Michigan and died peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at her home.

Her kind and generous spirit was known to all who knew her. She enjoyed singing, listening to music and camping. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the grandkids.

She had served as a cashier for the past several years at Big Lots of Cookeville. Barbara had a great work ethic and enjoyed her coworkers and serving the customers who shopped there.

Her faith was important to her and she was of the Methodist belief.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Steve Angel of Baxter, daughter Melissa Marie Angel of Baxter, step-daughter Tammy Angel of Baxter, sister Sally (Jerry) Hudson of LaPeer, MI, brother Johnny (Jan) Brown of Madison Heights, MI, grandchildren: Brianna Burke and Mason Burke, step-grandchildren: Dakota Whittaker, Kourtney Whittaker and Addison Whittaker, nieces and nephews: Jonas Hudson, Noah Hudson, sandra Barndollar, Jon Jon and Rose Brown, Jimmy Mack Brown, Tammy Brown Piccinini special friends: Marie Poore, Donna Buchanan, Jeanie and Pearl Mathis and her pet dog, Daisy.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Scillis and Violet Schafenberger Brown, step-son Bobby Angel and grandson Jonathan Angel.

A funeral service for Barbara will be Tuesday, April 7 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home, 532 4th Avenue South, Baxter, TN. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 11 AM until service time at 1 PM at the funeral home.
