Barbara Buckner

Barbara Jean Webb Buckner, known affectionately to all as Barbara, passed away peacefully at her residence in Cookeville, TN, on May 9, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on October 17, 1943, in Los Angeles, CA, Barbara grew up to be a woman of faith, strength, and unwavering love for her family.


Barbara's life was marked by her devotion to her family and her faith. She was a cherished member of the Northeast Church of Christ, where she exemplified the virtues of a devoted Christian. Her energetic spirit, loyalty, and strong will were evident in every aspect of her life, from her personal relationships to her steadfast commitment to her beliefs.


Throughout her life, Barbara was a pillar of strength for her family. She is survived by her loving sons, Randy Webb (Carol) and Roy Webb; stepsons, Ken Buckner (Pam), and Steve Buckner (Linda); grandchildren, Spencer Webb (Casey), Bryson Webb, Will Buckner, and Scott Buckner; and great-grandchildren, Trystan and Rylee Webb, and Wade Buckner.


Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Grace Steed Stephenson; her first husband, Clarence Ray Webb; her second husband, Kenneth Buckner; her brother, Bill Stephenson; her sister, Ruth Register; and her grandson, Brandon Webb. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones who had passed before her.


Those who knew Barbara would describe her as loving and kind. She was a woman who touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. Her ability to connect with people was remarkable, and her presence brought joy to those around her.


A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 11, at Cookeville City Cemetery, where Barbara will be laid to rest. Her life will be celebrated in the hearts of those she leaves behind, and her memory will be cherished forever.
