Bess Sanford

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Bess H. Sanford, age 95, passed away at her Cookeville home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. With her at her passing was her son, Tony Hamby; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hamby; daughter, Joy Hamby and close friend, Gale Malone. Bess was born to John & Evelyn Barlow on September 10, 1930 in Clinton, TN.

She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Martha Smith, Mary Jackson and Zelma Barlow and two brothers, J.T. Barlow and Bill Barlow.

Bess loved her church family at First Baptist Church in Williston, FL. She was an avid reader, bridge player, and loved jigsaw puzzles. Throughout her life, Bess loved playing sports such as basketball, bowling, and especially, the game of golf to which she attributed her long and healthy life.

Entombment will be at a later date at Forest Meadows in Gainesville, Florida.
