Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Gertude Dillon, age 94 of the Spring Creek Community of Overton County, will be held Tuesday May 27 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Eldridge Cemetery. Rev. Mike Head will officiate. Mrs. Dillon died Sunday morning May 25, 2014 in Mabry Health Care and Rehab Center in Gainesboro. She was born October 11, 1919 in Overton County, Tennessee to the late Elmo and Kate Newberry Bilbrey. She was a member of Douglas Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for over 80 years and a long-time member of Livingston Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Dillon; daughter, Joyce Matthews; granddaughter, Stacey Langston; two sisters, Edith Adkins and Hallie Bilbrey; and two brothers, J.B Bilbrey and Polk Bilbrey. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Jenkins of Gallatin, TN; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Henri Dillon of Smyrna, TN and Gary Dillon; seven grandchildren, Donna (Mark) House, Shannon Alford, Leigh Ann Hollingsworth, Dewayne Dillon Chance Alford, Charles Jenkins, JR and Brenda Jenkins; seven great grandchildren, Chase, Derrick, and Nathan Jenkins, Katie and Brittan Hollingsworth, and Travis and Tyer House; and two great great grandchildren, Autumn and Mattie Jenkins. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Dillon's family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
