Funeral Services for Bessie Marie Dubree, age 82, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday, May 20, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Dubree passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Bessie was born October 20, 1930 in Putnam County TN to the late John Allison Mitchell and Oma Elizabeth Crawford Mitchell. She was a loving homemaker, but had also worked at McCord’s and Acme Boot Company in the past. Mrs. Dubree enjoyed gardening and canning, was a great cook, and loved the TV show “Days of our Lives.” Bessie was a member of the Holladay Church of Christ. Bessie is survived by her children; Brenda Lewis (husband Larry) of Brentwood TN, Deborah Smith of Nashville, Michael Dubree (wife Kelly) of Gainesboro, and Billy Dubree (wife Kaye) of Cookeville. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Tracey Grissom (husband Matt), Tammy Kinnard, Kacie and Brian Smith, Jessica Lewis, Chris and Meleah Dubree as well as five great-grandchildren; Tyler Carr, Haley Kinnard, Kason Grissom, Kolton Grissom, and Gabriella Dubree. Mrs. Dubree is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her loving church family at Holladay Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Omer Dubree, one son-in-law; Ronnie Smith, and six brothers and sisters as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Solan and Clairice Mitchell, Lee and Maggie Mitchell, Clara C. and Clifford Jernigan, Bill and Essie Mitchell, Durell Mitchell, and Archie and Odelle Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Tyler Carr, Matt Grissom, Jeff Kinnard, Chris Dubree, Brian Smith, and Grady Mitchell. Bro. Johnny Fox will conduct the services.
