Betty Grasty

DYER CHAPEL - Betty Lynn Grasty, a devoted homemaker and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Cookeville, Tennessee, on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on May 10, 1968, in Putnam County, TN, Betty's warmth and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many throughout her journey.

Betty was a loving wife to her husband, Larry Grasty, with whom she shared nearly 40 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Julie (Aaron) Mollohan of Sparta and Lisa (Justin) Payne of Cookeville, who continue to reflect the love and values instilled by their mother. Betty was a proud grandmother, finding joy in her grandchildren, Amirah Marie Grasty, Justin Rishan Payne, Arianna Leann Payne, and Noah Allen Payne, whom she adored and cared for with great devotion.

Betty is also survived by her brother, Glen (Pam) Hayes of Baxter, and her sister, Regina Zuller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlus Lee Hayes and Barbara Ann Montgomery, as well as her beloved daughter, Stephanie Marie Grasty, whose memory she carried in her heart.

Throughout her life, Betty embraced a variety of hobbies and interests that showcased her creativity and passion. She enjoyed playing diamond dart, crocheting, and immersing herself in music. Additionally, she crafted beautiful pieces through looming and cross-stitching, while also enjoying the entertainment of playing video games. These activities not only brought her joy but also served as a way for her to connect with family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment following at Sand Springs Memorial Garden.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In honoring her memory, those who knew Betty are reminded of her unwavering love for her family and the lasting impact she had on her community. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
