Betty Jordan

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ann Jordan, age 78, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Celebrant Judy Duke will officiate. Interment will follow at the Phillips Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Betty passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at her home. She was born July 21, 1939, in Petros, TN to the late Paul E. and Susie W. Tucker Waldrop. She graduated from Central High School in Wartburg, TN in 1957. She was a homemaker and cared for her family. She is survived by her husband, Ray Jordan; two sons, Mike and Eric Jordan of Cookeville; daughter, Melanie Jordan of Newnan, GA; five sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Dodge of Knoxville, Paula Freytag of Hillsboro, TN, Janie (Roger) Harney of Chattanooga, Pam (Wayne) Woods of Kingston, TN, and Shawnie (Jerry) Hooper of Knoxville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mickey and Ann Jordan, of Lenoir City; a granddaughter, Amber Jordan; and two great-grandsons, Jordan and Liam Rice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Casteel, and a brother-in-law, Allen Freytag. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
