Billie LaFever
Billie Ray LaFever, age 56, passed away suddenly on June 4, 2023, at his residence in Sparta, Tennessee. Born on January 10, 1967, in Ferndale, Michigan, Billie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Billie was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Therese LaFever; grandparents, Beecher and Bertha LaFever, and John and Irene Van Boemel; sister, Shirley McKee, and granddaughter, Jasmine Shockley. He is survived by his wife, Connie (Phy) LaFever; children, Tiffany Shockley, Adam LaFever, and Dixie Griggs; grandchildren, Blake Shockley, Paris Shockley, Golden Poole, Gia’Bella Law, Jaxson Griggs, and Kingston Burton; brother and sisters, Danny LaFever, Donna Cope, and Diana LaFever; father and mother-in-law, Johnny and Irene Phy; brother-in-law, Michael Phy; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Throughout his life, Billie was a dedicated and hardworking individual. He was a skilled carpenter and installer, working with Crown Windows and Siding (now Crown Properties) for more than 25 years. His work ethic and humble nature left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Graveside services for Billie will be at 3 p.m. Saturday June 10 at Perkins Cemetery.
