COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Billy F. Davidson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Cookeville, Tennessee, on May 5, 2026. Born on February 11, 1956, in Jackson County, TN, Billy lived a life marked by dedication, love for family, and a passion for the simple joys that enriched his days.

Billy devoted many years of his career to Fleetguard, where he was known as a skilled forklift operator. His work ethic and commitment to his job were a defining part of his life, reflecting the steadfastness and reliability he showed in all he did.

Outside of work, Billy’s interests brought him great happiness and connection with others. He enjoyed playing golf, cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers football team, following NASCAR races, and playing softball. Above all, his heart was deeply touched by his grandbabies, who were a source of immense joy and pride.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 25 years, Diane Medley Davidson, who stood as his partner and companion through life's many seasons. Billy is also lovingly remembered by his daughters, Ashley Davidson of Cookeville and Rachel (Joseph) Roberts of Baxter, and his step-son, Josh Oakley, also of Cookeville. His family circle includes brothers Tommy (Sue) Davidson and Myrrl (Margaret) Davidson, who remain close to his heart. His legacy continues through his grandchildren-Ciara Davidson, Hope Bain Roberts, Julius Lyons, Eli Roberts, Cienna Lyons, and Fowler Roberts-as well as a great-grandchild, Atlas Davidson, who brings new light to his family’s ongoing story.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Lee and Mable Flatt Davidson, and his brothers Gene Davidson, Wallace Davidson, and Bobby Davidson, whose memories he held dear.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Friday, May 8, 2026 from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Gary Davidson and Terry Davidson officiating.

Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery with Steve Oakley, Dewayne Oakley, Josh Oakley, Barry Davidson, John Medley and Ted Trebing serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Hogg, Joseph Roberts, Tommy Davidson, Myrrl Davidson, Eli Roberts, Fowler Roberts, Julius Lyons and Atlas Davidson.

Billy’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the love he shared, the memories he created, and the family he nurtured will forever serve as a testament to a life well-lived. His quiet strength and kind spirit have left an indelible imprint on his community and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
