COOKEVILLE-Billy Lee Harp, a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Poppy and friend, passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on September 15, 1947, in Cookeville, TN, Billy lived his entire life in the town he cherished, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship.

Billy's career as a talented woodworker began at the former Norco Furniture, where he honed his skills and passion for the art of crafting with wood. He dedicated over 30 years of his life to Norwalk Furniture until his retirement, where he was known for his meticulous work and attention to detail. His craftsmanship became a source of pride for his family and friends, who admired his ability to transform raw materials into beautiful creations.

Beyond his professional life, Billy found joy in attending weekly auctions at Page Auctions in Crossville, where he was affectionately known as the "candy man." In addition to eating sweets, Billy loved to make others laugh, embracing his role as a jokester who could give and take a good-natured ribbing. He was always eager to lend a helping hand, embodying kindness and generosity in all aspects of his life. He attended New Beginning Assembly of God.

Billy's proudest accomplishments included his deep love for his family. He spent almost 58 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Linda Ray Harp. Their bond was an inspiration, showcasing the beauty of lifelong companionship. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Renee’ (Darren) Wilson, and took immense joy in being a grandfather to Brad (Jenifer) Wilson and Brooke (Jonathan) Turner; and as a Poppy to , Graham, Camrie, and Liam Wilson, who brought him unending happiness and love. He will also be missed by his two cherished "grandfurs," Winston and Baby Girl.

He is also survived by his brother, Bobby C. Harp; sister, Beverly Green; and nephews, Larry Harp and Matt Green.

Billy was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Horace C. Harp and Anna Pauline Oakley Harp, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Myron Greer will officiate. Interment will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery.

His family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to New Beginning Assembly of God food pantry, 2193 W Broad St, Cookeville, TN 38501.
