Billy Earnest Hoilman

DYER CHAPEL-Billy "Bill" Earnest Hoilman was born September 28, 1942 in Bakersville, North Carolina and died Friday, January 9, 2026 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 83.

Bill graduated from Boone Creek High School in Gray, TN. He also attended college at East Tennessee State University. Later Bill joined the US Army and served his country with distinction.

He owned and operated the Tastee Freeze on South Jefferson Avenue in Cookeville for many years. Many Cookevillians and others enjoyed wonderful food there as well as a place for fellowship and the "Juke Box".

His faith was important to him and was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church.

Bill retired as a salesman with Institutional Wholesale of Cookeville after many years of service.

He always enjoyed golf, University of Tennessee sports and Tennessee Tech University sports. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the grandkids and great grandchild.

He leaves behind daughters Michele (Dan) Wilberscheid of Cookeville, Kristi Brown of Mt. Juliet, brother Johnny (Joan) Hoilman of Johnson City, TN, grandchildren: Jacob (Sydney) Wilberscheid of Cookeville, Joshua (Bianca) Wilberscheid of Cookeville, Haley Brown of Cookeville, Dylan Brown of Mt. Juliet, great grandson Matthew Bill Randy Wilberscheid.

Bill was preceded in death by parents, George Lee and Venice Katherine Woody Hoilman, sister and brother-in-law Jeannie and Jim Royston.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, January 13, 2026 1 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home, 798 South Willow Avenue, Cookeville, TN. Bro. Jimmy arms will officiate. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday after 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
