COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Bobby Joe Davis, left this world peacefully at his residence on Saturday July 18, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on March 1, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee, Bobby filled his days with a warmth and laughter that anyone fortunate enough to know him will not soon forget.
From his earliest days, Bobby's spirit shone with a brightness that gently commanded attention but never demanded it. His nickname, "Hollywood," was earned as much for his magnetic personality as for his charm in any room he entered. He was loved by everyone and is described as a breathe of fresh air and a ray of sunshine. He was an avid fan of Elvis Presley.
Bobby's life was shaped by the love and strength of his family. He is survived by his devoted sister, Linda O'Donnell, and his brothers, Ernest and Mark Davis. He also leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Throughout the years, Bobby shared a special bond with his friends, roommates including Jason Love, George Williams, Johnny Buckner, Donald Lowe, caretakers, especially Margo Phillips, and staff and everyone at Cookeville Pacesetters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Davis; his mother, Connie Darnell Davis Vantrease; and his brother, Frank Davis.
A visitation to celebrate Bobby's life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Cookeville Chapel, located at 59 N Jefferson Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38501. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather, remember, and honor his memory. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37211, where Bobby will be laid to rest.
