COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Brenda Carol Hampton, a beloved figure in her community, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at NHC of Sparta. Born on October 13, 1947, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Brenda lived a life filled with service, dedication, and love.
After more than 30 years, Brenda retired from her career at the Tennessee Human Services office, where her efforts positively impacted countless individuals in the region. Her commitment to her work exemplified her caring nature, which extended beyond her professional life into her personal pursuits.
Brenda was a member of Hampton’s Crossroads Baptist Church, where she drew strength and friendship from her faith and community involvement. Her warmth was felt by many, and her contributions to the church and local area were numerous. She served as a treasure for the Nash Cemetery for many years, a testament to her devotion to her community and family history.
She cherished moments spent with her family, particularly enjoying photography, baking, and trips to the Smoky Mountains with her cousins. Her love for flowers added vibrancy to her life and to those around her. Brenda’s enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she created lasting memories with her loved ones through her hobbies and interests.
She is survived by her son, Chris (Christy) Hampton; her grandchildren, Brandon Bryant, Ashley (Josh) Hull, Tanner Hampton, Josh Brady, and Tucker Hampton; and her great-grandson, Carter Hull. Brenda also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who held her dear.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lennie Mae Madewell Hitchcock; her husband, Billy Joe Hampton; her daughter, Tracy Brady; and her brother, Terry Hitchcock. Each of these losses shaped her journey and filled her with resilience that inspired those around her.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Brenda Carol Hampton will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Hampton's Crossroads Baptist Church with Pastors Maston Jackson, Garry Farris and Bobby Moore officiating.
Interment will follow at Nash Cemetery in White County with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of the service at the Hampton's Crossroads Baptist Church.
