COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Butch Eldridge, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, was born on May 31, 1945, in Detroit, MI. He departed this world on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A retired truck driver, Butch was well-known not only for his long hauls across the country but also for the kind heart that accompanied him on each journey. His love for fishing encapsulated a spirit of adventure and relaxation, providing him with the perfect pastime to enjoy the serenity of nature while creating memories with family and friends. His family was the center of his life, and it was in the company of loved ones that Butch truly thrived.
His proud membership in Algood United Methodist Church underscored his dedication to community and service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #266 of Cookeville and an Al Menah Shriner with the Nashville Lodge, where he contributed to many charitable efforts with a sense of honor and duty that his family deeply admired.
Butch is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra Eldridge, who was his partner and confidante throughout their many years together. Their daughter, Lisa Eldridge from Algood, TN, will carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Butch's spirit will also live on in his brother Ronnie (Donna) Eldridge of Cookeville, TN and sisters Patty Davidson of Jackson County, TN, and Brenda (Jesse) Gilliam of Cookeville, TN.
The bond of family extended to his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Randy and Jan Jones, Larry Chaffin, and Helen Jones, who cherished the moments shared over the years. Butch delighted in the joy of being an uncle to his great nephews: Colton, Hunter, Asher, and Cooper Eldridge, who will remember their great-uncle fondly. His granddog, Annie, brought additional warmth and companionship to his life.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents, CD and Sarah Ramsey Eldridge, and brother Donnie Eldridge, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. Though he has left this earthly realm, the impact of Butch Eldridge's love, kindness, and spirit will resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
