Throughout her life, Hazel was known for her entrepreneurial spirit and her commitment to serving others. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Brewington and Lisa Brewington, both of Cookeville; her brothers, Buddy (Gail) Steward and David Steward of Cookeville; and her sisters, Rosalie Judd of Indiana and Maelene (Izell) Ramsey of Cookeville. Hazel was a cherished grandmother to Dustin Bilbrey, Brandon Henley, and Lacy (Jason) Stamps, and her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Henley, Emma Stamps, Callie Henley, Morgan Stamps, Jack Stamps, and great-grandchildren, Braylex Lewis and Rylan Bilbrey.
Hazel rejoins in everlasting peace her parents, Hubert and Savilla Sane Steward; her beloved husband, JD Brewington, who predeceased her on June 21, 2018; her siblings, Sue Krites, Jene Duncan, Anna Pearl Steward, and Alvin Steward; and her grandson, Kyle Bilbrey, along with great-grandchildren Alex and Brayden Henley.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at Dyer Chapel 798 S. Willow Ave in Cookeville. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Chase Fletcher officiating.
