Carol Goolsby

Funeral services for Rebecca Carol Goolsby, age 73 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday December 9 at Cookeville First Baptist Church. Pastor Scott McKinney and Pastor Bill Stone will officiate. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Carol passed away Monday December 5, 2022 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

She was born October 18, 1949 in Cookeville to the late Charlie and Winnie Dennis Clinton.

Carol graduated from Putnam County Senior High in 1968. She formerly worked at Citizens Bank and the Putnam County Trustee's office. She retired from First Realty Company after a 30 year career in real estate.

Carol was a faithful member of Cookeville First Baptist Church. She often co-hosted countless wedding teas and bridal showers. She was also a member of the Cookeville Collectors Club.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Nolan Goolsby, whom she married June 20, 1970; two daughters, Amy (Brett) Shields of Hermitage, TN, Megan (Rick) Monroe of Cleveland, TN; sister, Karen (Jerry) Newport of Cookeville; two brothers, James (Bonnie) Clinton of Cookeville, Mike Clinton of Baxter; grandchildren, Jake James, Charlie Monroe, and William Monroe.
