COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Mrs. Glynda "Carol" Halfacre, known as sweetie by family, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at NHC Healthcare Sparta. Born on May 23, 1948, in the Dry Valley community of Putnam County, Carol lived a life defined by love, dedication, and the warmth she so freely gave to those around her.
A native of Cookeville, Carol was a dedicated homemaker whose sweetest joy was her family. Her kindness and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. Beyond her role at home, she was a talented floral arranger, bringing beauty and life into any room she graced with her artistry. Her passion for God and family was seamlessly woven into every aspect of her life, guiding her actions and nurturing those she loved.
Her proudest accomplishment was her beloved family, the cornerstone of her life and the source of her greatest joy. She loved God and attended the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 56 years, William D. Halfacre; her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Brook and Michelle Halfacre, and Logan Douglas and Jill Halfacre; and her grandchildren, Colton, Kaylyn, and Kendall, who will carry her love forward in their hearts. Carol also leaves behind her brother, James A. Minnear, and other close family members, who shared in her journey through life’s many moments.
Carol’s parents, Frank A. and Bettie T. Kirby Minnear, and her siblings, Thomas Odean Minnear, Donald Eugene Minnear, Kenneth Frank Minnear, and Linda Rae Maxwell, preceded her in death, leaving treasured memories of a life well lived.
A graveside service for immediate family was held at Granville Cemetery on April 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Mike Bragg officiated.
