COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Charles Anthony Branch, affectionately known as "Bro. Chuck," departed this life on Thursday October 9, 2025, at his residence in Cookeville, Tennessee. Born on October 17, 1958, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he spent his life dedicated to his faith, family, and community.
A revered Baptist minister, Bro. Chuck served with unwavering commitment at various churches, including Wetumpka Baptist Church in Wetumpka, Alabama, East Chattanooga Baptist Church, and most notably at West View Baptist Church, where he retired after over 20 years of devoted service. Throughout his ministry, he was known for his big personality and outgoing nature, sharing his love for Jesus with all who crossed his path. One of his proudest accomplishments was initiating a community meals program at West View Baptist Church, which made a significant impact on many lives.
Bro. Chuck was not just a minister; he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Janie Branch; his cherished mother, Bobbie Branch; son Tony Branch, along with his wife Jessica; daughter Elizabeth “Weezer” Branch; sister Darlene Branch; and five adoring grandchildren, Braxton, DJ, Sadie, Colton, and Walker Branch. He also leaves behind his beloved niece Beverly Poteet (Richard), nephew Jed Krider (Cherie), and their families. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the family he adored.
He was predeceased by his father, Sammy Charles Branch, and his sister, Charlotte Hurt, who both remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
A funeral service honoring Bro. Chuck will be at 1 p.m. Saturday October 11 at West View Baptist Church. Bro. Sammy McNabb and Bro. Jimmie Simpson will officiate. Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be Saturday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the church.
The Branch family would like to extend their appreciation to Gentiva Hospice and staff members, Jeremy Dunn, Susan Lafever, and Cassandra Neal for the compassion and care rendered to Bro. Chuck.
Charles Anthony Branch lived a life rich in faith, family, and friendships, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his loved ones.
