COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Charles Mauldin Wiggins, 68, resident of Cookeville, Tennessee, and son of the late Dr. Casper and Virginia Wiggins, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2025.
Charlie was born Jan. 8, 1957, in Greenwood, South Carolina, attended Greenwood High School, and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in marketing.
Charlie was a kind and generous spirit. He always had a ready smile and friendly word to share. He had a true gift for meeting people and related easily to everyone he met. He enjoyed playing golf, working on DIY projects and home repairs of all kinds, and always looked forward to spending time with friends and family. He especially loved spending time with family and friends at the Lake Junaluska family cottage in the North Carolina mountains.
Much of Charlie's career was involved in medical equipment sales. In later years he worked as a property maintenance handyman and drove a school bus for the local school system. He loved both of these roles, and the kids called him "Mr. Charlie."
He is survived by his sisters, Sarah Wiggins Speth (Ted) of Columbia, Tennessee, Virginia Wiggins Woods (Mark), of Middlesboro, Kentucky; a brother, Casper Wiggins (Connie) of Mooresville, North Carolina; and his former wife, Carol Anderson Wiggins, of Cookeville, Tennessee.
He is also survived by a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, all who loved him dearly.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Lake Junaluska Assembly, 759 N. Lake Shore Drive, Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, 28745.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Greenwood.
