Charlotte Waller-Bates

BAXTER CHAPEL-Charlotte Marie Waller-Bates was born August 10, 1946 in Davenport, Iowa and died Thursday, December 18, 2025 at NHC of McMinnville in McMinnville, TN at the age of 79.

Charlotte moved with her family to Baxter in 1961.

She was a retired seamstress with Cookeville Shirt Factory. She enjoyed cooking and having the family over for "get-togethers". She loved spending time with family and friends.

She leaves behind husband Carl Bates of McMinnville, daughters Tammy (Jason) Phillips of Baxter, Tina Elkins of Cookeville, sister Viola Hubbs-Shankle of Davenport, Iowa, grandchildren: Samantha (Louis) Latimer, Cruz Down, Kalei Connor, Allison Elkins, Blake (Ashley) Phillips, Chelsey (Tyler) Seiber, great grandchildren Kinzleigh Down, Creed Down, Emersyn Latimer, Lukas Loftis, Hunter Loftis, Kelly Ann Reed, Waylon Seiber and Evie Kate Seiber.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Fleming, Jr. and Florence Ella Vogt Fleming, first husband, W.D. "BUD" Waller on September 30, 1993.

A memorial service honoring Charlotte will be at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home 532 4th Avenue South, Baxter, TN on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 5 PM. The family will receive friends Sunday Jan 4 from 3 PM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Palmer Cemetery in Silver Point at a later date.
