Chester Dyer

Visitation services for Chester Dyer, age 83, of Cookeville, TN and formerly of Ranger, WV will be from 4 -7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 at Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. EST on Friday, May 5 at Upper Ten Mile United Baptist Church in Ranger, WV. Pastor Tim Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Warrick Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church in Ranger, WV Friday from 12 - 2 p.m. EST. Mr. Dyer passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1933 in Cuzzie, WV to the late Clyde and Lola Dean Dyer. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, OH with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Upper Ten Mile United Baptist Church and the Pistons Car Club in Cookeville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Blanche Roberson, Gladys Burgess, June Adkins, and Mary Alice Porter; and two brothers, Ezra and Bernie Dyer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sadie Tomblin Dyer, whom he married September 29, 1956 in Middkiff, WV; three sisters and brother-in-law, Odessa Cabell of Pea Ridge, WV, Millie Ross of Kiahsville, WV, Virginia and Wandel Parsons of Barboursville, WV; brother and sister-in-law, Odell and Faye Dyer of Ranger, WV.
