Clark Thomas

BAXTER CHAPEL-Clark Thomas, born on August 16, 1943, in Silver Point, TN, passed away peacefully at his home in Silver Point on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the age of 82. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and member of his community, Clark's legacy is marked by his unwavering dedication to family, service, and a variety of passions that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.

Clark was a familiar figure in the local area, contributing significantly to both the Tennessee Valley Authority in Gallatin, TN, and the Thomas Service Center in Baxter. He was known for his hard work in farming and his resourcefulness as a "jack of all trades." His creative spirit came alive through various hobbies, including antiquing, woodworking, and working with horses. He frequently engaged in what he affectionately referred to as "piddling" and "tinkering," making him a cherished figure among friends and family who appreciated his hands-on approach to life.

His educational journey included attending Upperman High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Clark exemplified dedication in all he pursued, but his proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his role as a member of the Silver Point Church of Christ, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment.

Clark is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Roberts Thomas of Silver Point; his sons, Jerry (Nicole) Thomas of Cookeville, Michael Thomas of Silver Point, and Charles Stover of Pennsylvania; along with his grandchildren, Kevin Thomas, Helena Thomas, Jaycee Thomas, Erika Cochran, Lea Stover, Ashton Distefano, and Dalton Distefano, and one great-grandchild, Sayler Distefano.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Luther and Vennie Lee Palmer Thomas; his daughter, Tammy Sue Stover; his son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Cindy Herren Thomas; and his sister and brother-in-law, Donna Sue and Glen Robinson. The love and memories shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
