Connie Walker

Wanda Connie Walker, 48, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday September 17, 2026 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born in Cookeville on May 22, 1978, she remained a beloved part of the community throughout her life and was a familiar face to many who knew her.

Connie graduated from Cookeville High School in 1996 and formerly worked as a hairstylist. She was known for her warm smile and for the ease with which she made others feel comfortable. When she entered a room, she had a way of bringing laughter and light with her, and she was always easy to get to know. Those qualities left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to spend time with her.

She is survived by her grandmother, Flo Null Rich; mother, Darlene Jones; her three children, Peyton Allard Walker, Mason Andrew Walker (Mary Beth), and Colton Ashawn Walker; brother Charles Jones (Mary) and special friend Dave Henry. Connie was also a proud grandmother to Callie and Camrie. She was preceded in death by her father, William Thomas Jones.

Connie enjoyed shopping, especially for shoes and purses, and in her younger years she liked playing recreational softball. These simple pleasures were part of the life she made for herself and the joy she found in everyday moments.

A funeral service honoring Connie will be at held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Adams will officiate. Interment will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be Monday evening from 5 - 8 p.m and again Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.

Connie's memory will be cherished by those who loved her, and she will be remembered with deep affection for the happiness, kindness, and laughter she brought into the lives of others.
