BAXTER-Cynthia Ann Thomas, affectionately known as Cindy, passed away peacefully at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN, on May 25, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on August 5, 1964, in Cookeville, TN, Cindy was a beacon of light and a source of strength for all who knew her.
Cindy was a 1982 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter, TN, and a devout member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church, where she served with a joyful spirit and unwavering faith. Her commitment to her community was evident in her actions and the love she shared with those around her.
Her professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and dedication. Cindy was the proud owner of Business Solutions, a home-based business specializing in accounting and taxes. Her clients respected her for her integrity, expertise, and the personal attention she brought to her work.
Cindy's life was one of service and devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Oval and Barbara Ann Huddleston Herren, and her cherished husband of 28 years, Perry Clark Thomas, who passed away on February 4, 2011. Her love and memories will be carried forward by her son, Kevin Thomas of Baxter; her brother, Glen (Jill) Herren of Cookeville; her nephew, William Jared Herren; her aunt, Marie White; in-laws, Clark and Jackie Thomas; Michael (Marie) Thomas, Jerry (Nicole) Thomas, nieces, Helena and Jayce Thomas; and a host of cousins who will miss her dearly.
Known for her caring and giving nature, Cindy was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. Her loyalty to her family was unwavering, and she nurtured her relationships with the same tenderness and dedication that she applied to every aspect of her life.
Cindy had a keen interest in keeping up with news and current events, which kept her engaged with the world and informed in her conversations. Her intelligence and insight were appreciated by all who had the pleasure of discussing the day's happenings with her.
As we mourn the loss of Cynthia Ann Thomas, we also celebrate her remarkable life—a life lived with purpose, love, and kindness. Cindy's legacy is one of compassion, service, and an enduring commitment to her faith and family. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as her presence enriched the lives of those she touched.
Cindy's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the impact of her life will be felt for generations to come. We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with her beloved Perry. Her spirit, a radiant light, will never fade from the hearts of those who loved her.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Cindy was a treasure to all, and while we grieve her passing, we also give thanks for the time we had with her. She has left us with a treasure trove of memories that will bring smiles to our faces even through the tears.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 1 P.M. in the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday 5 PM to 8 PM and Saturday 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in the Boma Community. Bro. Herb Leftwich will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Townsend, Jeff Howell, Austin Melton, Justin Ramsey, Cody Gunn, and Jerry Austin.
As we say farewell to Cindy, we hold tight to the love she gave, the wisdom she shared, and the laughter she inspired. Her journey was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her life was a gift to us all.
