Funeral services for David Charles Cox, 64 of Cookeville will be Wednesday, April 3 at 11 AM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr. Cox died Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 18, 1954 in Lebanon, TN to Milford Bass Cox of Cookeville and the late Rebecca Estell Lee Cox. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jacob Nash and grandparents, Dibrell and Bertha Morgan Lee and Martin Lee and Mamie Bass Cox. He was a 1972 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired shipping clerk with 30 plus years of service to Fleetguard of Cookeville and nine years of service to Colinx of Crossville. He was an avid UT Football and Nashville Predators fan. He enjoyed motorcycle riding. He loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed his poodle, Pippin. Survivors beside his father include, daughter and son-in-law Charity and Adam Hipp of Old Forge, NY, sons and a daughter-in-law Josh and Maureen Cox of Merritt Island, Fl, Kevin Cox of Crossville, sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Sam Holm of Cookeville, brother Tim Cox of Baxter, grandchildren: Bailey, Landon and Merritt Cox and Kaden Howard. Pastor Donnie Davidson will officiate. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.
