COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - David Foster, affectionately known as "Dozer-Dave," passed away on December 30, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Born on September 22, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, David led a life marked by dedication, compassion, and an enduring love for family and friends.

For 33 years, David was the esteemed owner/operator of his construction business, Foster Construction. His work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him respect in his industry and made a significant impact on the community he served. David was not just a builder of structures; he was a builder of relationships, fostering a sense of camaraderie among colleagues and clients alike.

David proudly served in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Stewart in Georgia, where he demonstrated his steadfast dedication to his country, by serving in the Army Corp of Engineering. This experience shaped not only his character but also his leadership style, which was grounded in integrity and respect.

An avid lover of the outdoors, David found joy in mowing grass, building projects, boating, and playing board games. He was a passionate football fan and cherished the moments spent watching games with loved ones. David loved family gatherings, such as birthday celebrations, when the ones he loved most were gathered together. His faith also played a pivotal role in his life, and he made it a point to attend church services whenever possible, finding strength and community through his beliefs.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherrie Maynard Foster; his son, Adam (Ashley) Foster; his daughters, Amy (Riley) Sparks and April Foster; his brother, Mark Foster; and his beloved grandchildren: Chelsea (Tyler) McBride, Colin Sparks, Caylie Sparks, Addyson Foster, and Arielle Foster. David also held a special place in his heart for his great-grandchildren, Dezirae Sparks and Jase McBride, who brought him immense joy.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Doris Beierman Foster, who were undoubtedly proud of the man he became.
