David Judd

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and brother-in-law David M. Judd, of Cookeville, TN passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026 at the age of 92. He was born on April 2, 1934 in Cookeville to the late Arla and John William Judd.

David was a devoted husband and father, spending his life dedicated to his family. After attending school in Cookeville, he worked at Acme Boot Company and was also a full-time farmer. The black angus herd on his family’s Century Farm originated with a black angus heifer he won through the 4-H Club and the Putnam County Fair.

He will be remembered for his love of God, his family, farming, fishing with his wife, gardening, and the land. He was a faithful member of Salem Church in Cookeville.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Bobbie Maurine Judd, and 7 of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Brenda York of Cookeville, TN and Marsha and Wayne Nixon of Magnolia,TX; grandchildren Jeromy York, Molly Nixon, Katie Dunn, and Sarah Sides; great grandchildren Lilly York, Jacob Sides, Ali York, Jaden York, Reagan Sides, and Lane Dunn; and brother Dale Judd, sister Jean Whiteaker, and sister-in-law Margaret Walker.

The family thanks all the caregivers from Signature Health Care, Gentiva, and Silver Angels for the wonderful care they provided David and Maurine over the years.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 3:00 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00. He will be laid to rest at the Salem Cemetery.
