COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Delores Ann Ford, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born September 8, 1943, in Junction, Illinois, to the late A.J. Harper and Alberta Harper.

Delores was a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was also a member of the International P.E.O. Sisterhood which provide educational assistance so women can pursue their educational goals.

She began her professional career as a teacher in Louisville, Kentucky. She later pursued a successful career in real estate, where her dedication, knowledge, and genuine care for others made her highly respected among clients and colleagues alike. After relocating to Cookeville, Tennessee, she continued her work in real estate, forming many lasting friendships with those she served.

Beyond her career, Delores was passionate about giving back to her community. She participated in numerous charitable projects throughout the Upper Cumberland area, including work with Kid's Putnam. Her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on many lives.

Above all else, Delores treasured her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took great pride in the men they have become.

Delores is survived by her sons, Russell Ford and his wife Lee, and Chet Ford; her grandsons, Devin, Jackson, and Alex Ford; her sisters, Lynn Dekemper and her husband Danny and Rebecca Harper; her nephews, Chris, Damon, and Wesley Dekemper, Corey Keach, and A.J. Harper; and her special cousins, Dale and ShelbyWilliams.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carrie Ford and Sister Margaret Harper.

Delores will be laid to rest beside her daughter Carrie at Cave City Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. Graveside services will be held March 21 @2pm EST.
