Donald Draper

Donald James Draper of Cookeville, TN passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, September 29th after a year-long battle with liver cancer.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of 61 years, and his four sons: Jerry, Steven, Kennel, Scott, nine grand-children and four great-grand children.

Don was the son of Lamar Taylor and Helen Inez Draper, sibling to Betty, Leonard, and Pat.

Don has called Cookeville, TN home for almost 20 years following 50 years in Arizona. He served in the Army National Guard and was a Korean War Veteran. He attended Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Cookeville, Tn. His time in Parker, AZ area was dedicated to his family supporting them in school events and being an active leader/supporter of 4-H. Those who knew Don, he was a talker and would share stories of his life's adventures with anyone.

He really was a people person. The rooms he would have been in, will be a little quieter now. He will be missed. The family will host a private celebration of life October 17, 2026.
