COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Donna Kaye Spurlock, known affectionately as Donna to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on June 16, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, Donna's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
Family was the cornerstone of Donna's life, and her legacy continues through her beloved family. She is survived by her adoring daughter, Stacy Darty (Keisha); her sisters, Joyce Tinsley (Bobby), Gail Bumbalough (Gary), and Kathy Craft; and her treasured grandchildren, Jazmin and Jayana Johnson. Donna also leaves behind her special friend, Roy Spurlock, who stood by her as a pillar of support and companionship.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Elizabeth and Jack Langert, and her brother-in-law, Ron Craft. The memories and values they shared will continue to guide those who were fortunate enough to know Donna.
For over two decades, Donna dedicated her career to the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency. Her commitment to service was evident in the way she tirelessly worked to improve the lives of community members. Her colleagues will remember her as a steadfast and compassionate advocate for those in need.
Donna's personality was a blend of feistiness and stubbornness, traits that served her well in both her professional and personal life. She was a loyal friend who could always be counted on for support and a good laugh. Her love for her family was boundless, and she took every opportunity to spoil her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Those who knew Donna will recall her friendly demeanor and loving heart. She had the rare ability to make everyone feel like family, and her presence could light up any room. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to celebrate Donna's life will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, September 29, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories during the visitation from 1 pm to 3 pm before the service.
