Memorial services for Mrs. Edith (Edie) Walker, 87, of Monterey, will be held at 1pm Friday, January 9 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Walker died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Cookeville. She was born April 10, 1928 in Atkinson, NC to the late Matt and Lila Corbett Peterson Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Matt Peterson Jr.; sister, Menzette Donahue; and step-son, Bill Walker. Mrs. Walker was a former model and interior decorator. She was an elegant and sophisticated southern lady, who enjoyed traveling and dancing. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jim Walker of Monterey; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Randall and Arlene Barsumian of Cookeville; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Al Enochs of Cookeville and Amy and John Scholz of Charleston SC; sister and brother-in-law, Alice Lee and Howard Sykes of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Brian (Sharon) Barsumian, Brenda Barsumian, Will Enochs, Hunter Enochs, Jim Enochs, Daniel Walker, Eric Walker, and Bonnie Kate Walker; great-granddaughter, Autumn Barsumian; and several nieces and nephews.
