Edith Hogue Parman

Franklin, TN- Private graveside services and interment for Mrs. Edith Hogue Parman, 98, of Cookeville, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 , in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Franklin, Tennessee.

Mrs. Parman died Friday evening, August 30, 2024, in her home surrounded by family and loved ones.

She was born on December 3, 1925, in Davidson County to the late Reuben Leonard Hogue and Georgia Lira Hayes.

Mrs. Parman was retired from Purity Dairies with over 31 years of service. She was a proud, long standing member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

She was a member of Collegeside Church of Christ.

Her family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Parman) and John Massey of Naples, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Mary Cole Parman of Sparta, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Tammie and husband Matt Wright, Benjamin Massey, and Emily and husband Richard McPhillips III; ten great-grandchildren, Tyler Wright, Spencer Wright, Peyton Massey, Benjamin Massey, Harrison Massey, Richie McPhillips, Patrick McPhillips, Kevin McPhillips, Emily McPhillips, and Max McPhillips;and her loving, long-time caregivers, Reba Borden and Sharon Almader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Elijah Parman Jr.; her son, James Elijah Parman III (Jim); her daughter, Faith Garner; and her grandson, James Elijah Parman IV(Jimmy).

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

David Perkins will officiate at the service as he and his family, which include his wife Jenny, his son Will, his daughter-in-law Molly Beth, and his daughter, Kate have been a part of the Parman family since they met decades ago.
