COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Edward Ellis Solberg, affectionately known as Ed, was born on March 11, 1954, in Sparta, Wisconsin. He passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, at his residence in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Throughout his life, Ed exemplified a strong work ethic and dedication, characteristics that served him well in his successful career as the co-owner of Coulee Region Enterprises, a prominent lumber business located in Bangor, Wisconsin. His journey with Coulee Region began as an employee, demonstrating his commitment and hard work, which ultimately led to his co-ownership of the company. After a fulfilling career, Ed and his beloved wife, Laurie, retired and relocated to Cookeville, where they continued to embrace community life.

Ed was known for his active involvement in local organizations, having served as a proud member of the Lion's Club in Cookeville, as well as the Club in Sparta, Wisconsin. His faith was also a cornerstone of his life; he enjoyed being a member of The River Community Church in Cookeville and Faith Evangelical Free Church in Sparta, Wisconsin.

He leaves behind a loving family who cherished him deeply. Ed is survived by his wife, Laurie; his son, Scott Solberg, and daughter-in-law, Heide; his daughter, Karissa Solberg; his brother, Peter Solberg; and his sisters, Laurie Krueger (Gus), Jo Lynn Oliver (Todd), Jana Smith, and Jill Anderson (Mike). He was also a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, Andre' (Yesenia), Kalvin (Sam-fiancé), and Ava Solberg.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Wayne, and mothers Beverly and Judy, as well as his brothers, Stu Solberg, Joe Bruckman, and Jay Bruckman, and his sister, Jeri Zwack.

Ed leaves behind a profound impact on those who had the pleasure of knowing him, marked by his kindness, dedication, and spirit of service.

A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Sparta, Wisconsin on Friday, July 18, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a dinner to follow. Interment will be held Saturday, July 19th at 9:00 a.m. at Rockland Cemetery in Rockland, Wisconsin for immediate family.
