Elmer Donald Newton

Graveside services for Elmer Donald Newton, 58, of Sparta, will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at Elmo Richardson Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Mr. Newton died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at Cumberland Medical Center. He was born Oct. 27, 1951, in Finley, Ohio, to Alta McGlone King and the late John Newton. Mr. Newton was a factory worker. In addition to his mother, his family includes his wife, Barbara Newton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Donna Newton and Kristopher and Becky Power; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Dillon Newton; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, John Jr. and Betty Newton, Ronnie King and Roy (Butch) and Tammy King; a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and J.R. Carroll; five grandchildren, Shane T., Gabriel and Israel Newton, Tobias Magera and Jacob Power; and three step-grandchildren, Stephen, Shawn and Mickey Phillips. In addition to his father, Mr. Newton was preceded in death by his stepfather, Leaman King; his mother-in-law, Alberta Whitmore; and an uncle, George Dean. Pallbearers will be Mr. Newton's friends and family.
