Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Lee (Emilie) Miller, 77 of Cookeville, will be held at 3 pm Saturday November 2 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Dr Jimmy Arms officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Miller died Tuesday morning, October 29, 2013 at Cedar Hills Retirement Center in Cookeville after a brief but courageous battle with ALS. She was born January 24, 1936 in Morgan County, TN to the late Rev. Clem and Johnnie Sexton Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Charles Miller; brother, Elmer Jones; and brother-in-law, Robert Harvey. Mrs. Miller was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church, where she served as a volunteer with the Care Center Ministry. She was formerly employed at Ely and Walker in Monterey and retired from JC Penny in Cookeville. Mrs. Miller is survived by two daughters Gail Moody and husband Keith of Georgetown, KY, Stephanie Miller and Gary Ramsey of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Kyle Moody and wife Maricruz Rivera of Providence, RI, and Erin Moody and husband Matt Severson of Hyattsville, MD; brother, John A. Jones and wife Francine; sister, Peggy Harvey of Jacksonville, FL; aunt Opal Maden of Harriman, TN; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Nettie Ford, Shirley Hanna, and the Horner family (Jason, Bridget, Will, Jaylee, Emma and Kara). Mrs. Miller's family wish to convey a special thank you to Cedar Hills Retirement Center and Caris Hospice for their exceptional care. Serving as pall bearers are Paul Lomonaco, Jason Horner, Gerald Tinch, Jerry Sliger, Glyn Gentry, and Chuck Pritchard. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School class and YMCA friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Care Center at Stevens Street Baptist Church Willow 269 S. Willow Ave. Suite E, Cookeville, TN 38501, or the Cancer Care Fund c/o CRMC Foundation 1 Medical Center Blvd Cookeville, TN 38501.
