Eric Massie

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Eric Lyle Massie, affectionately known as “Big E,” passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday August 12, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on June 24, 1966, Eric’s presence in the lives of those who knew him was both deeply felt and enduring.

Eric’s life was marked by strong bonds with his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Linda Harness, and his children: Erica (Will) Lane, Wendi Massie, and Shania Enoch; his brother, Jake (Mellisa) Massie, and his sisters, Tina (Terry) Walker, Lisa Nolan, and Davina Rischer, along with six grandchildren whose lives have been enriched immeasurably by his guidance, warmth, and unwavering support. He also leaves behind his fiancé Misty Stewart, a cherished companion in his life’s journey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Massie, whose memory Eric carried with him throughout his own life.

Eric was a man who found great joy in life’s simple pleasures and in time spent with those he held dear. A true enthusiast of motorcycles, he relished the sense of freedom and adventure that came with the open road. Cookouts with friends and family were among his favorite ways to gather the people he cared for, ensuring laughter and good memories abounded. He also found happiness at the lake, where the tranquility of the water and the beauty of nature brought him peace and contentment.

Those who knew Big E will remember him as someone who was genuine, generous, and full of heart. His legacy lives on in the treasured moments shared with family and friends, in the stories told around the grill, and in the lasting bonds he so often celebrated.
