Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel L. Schultz, age 100, of Cookeville, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 14 at Heavenly Host Lutheran Church with Rev. Andrew Smith officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Mrs. Schultz passed away Wednesday morning, January 11, 2017 at Cedar Hills Senior Living in Cookeville. She was born May 8, 1916 in Selden, KS to the late John and Rose Curns Walter and was raised in Colorado Springs, CO. Mrs. Schultz was a faithful member of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul George Schultz; daughter, Linda Schultz; five brothers, Alva Simmons, Glen, Art, Leo, and Lester Walter; and sister, Maude Simmons. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Schultz of Cookeville, son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Gail Schultz of Springville, NY, brother, Ray Walter of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren, Kari (Woody) VanStratum, Adam (Jennie) Schultz, Jeff (Jeri) Schultz, Joanne (Dan) Price, James Schultz, John (Mirel) Schultz, and Tracy Kalvig; and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to Heavenly Host Lutheran School, 777 South Willow Ave., Cookeville, TN 38501.
