DYER CHAPEL-Franklin “Frank” Delano Plank, a devoted family man, respected community member, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Waters of Gainesboro in Gainesboro, Tennessee at the age of 89. Born on November 5, 1936, in Saginaw, Michigan, Frank led a life marked by loyalty, service, and commitment.

Frank proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marines from 1953 to 1957 during the Korean Conflict era. His military service was a testament to his courage and dedication, qualities that carried through to every chapter of his life.

Frank embarked on a remarkable career with General Motors, dedicating 40 years until his retirement in 2005. His professional legacy included a steadfast work ethic and an unwavering commitment to excellence, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and community members alike.

A man of faith, Frank practiced the Methodist tradition, which grounded him throughout his life. Beyond his faith, he was also a member of both the American Legion and the Moose Lodge, organizations through which he connected with others who shared his values of camaraderie and service.

Frank’s greatest pride was found in his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Ann Kaiser Plank of Gainesboro, Tennessee (m. August 31, 1957) ; his three sons, Jeffrey (Tammy) Plank of Saginaw, Michigan, Troy (Dolly) Plank of San Antonio, Texas; and Kurt Plank of Hope, Michigan; his two daughters, Malinda (Robert) Duperon of Saginaw, Michigan, and Tammy (Ray) Antinacio of Clinton, Utah; and a sister, Shirley Cressey of Lewiston, Michigan. Frank was also a cherished grandfather to ten grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ortis V. and Dorothy DeVore Plank, and his sisters, Marion Ordway and Hazel Dobis.

Throughout his life, Frank exemplified integrity, humility, and dedication to family and country. His passing leaves a profound void, but his legacy of service and steadfast love endures. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
