BAXTER CHAPEL-Gail Swank Jordan, born on May 16, 1950, in Ligon, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose warmth and spirit touched all who knew her.
Gail’s life was marked by her dedication to family and her vibrant personality enriched by numerous hobbies and interests. She found joy in crochet and quilting, the careful artistry of each stitch reflecting her patience and creativity. Gail enjoyed playing pool and working on crossword puzzles, activities that highlighted her sharp mind and playful nature. The simple pleasures of being poolside and basking in the sun brought her a quiet happiness that many treasured sharing with her.
She was a retired beautician and past owner of Gail’s Wagon Wheel and Homestead.
She is survived by her loving husband, Harold Jordan; her daughters Patsy Hall-Witkowski and husband Joe, Sara Langford and husband, Travis. Gail’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by her grandchildren Kevin Hall, Gail Hall, and ShiAnne Morris and husband Rusty; her great-grandchildren Landon Hall, Braedon Hall, Nicole Jordan, Jayclynn Jordan, Kaiden Jordan, Larry Langford, Kaylee Langford, Jacob Langford, McKayla Langford, McKenzie Langford, Benjamin Sells, and Gabrianna Sells; and her great-great-grandchild, Quinzel Lacour.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dillard and Virgie Holbrook Slone; her son Corey Hall; her daughter Denise Hall; and siblings Nellie Brown, Barbara Parris, and Larry Slone.
A Gathering of Friends to honor Gail’s memory will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Baxter Chapel, located at 532 4th Street, Baxter, Tennessee 38544. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a woman whose kindness and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who were privileged to know her. Interment will be at a later date in Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
Gail’s passing leaves a void, but her enduring legacy of love, creativity, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and eternally cherished.
