COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Gary Lynne Flowers, father, husband, grandfather, sibling, uncle and good friend, left this world peacefully on Tuesday October 14, 2025. He was born in rural Pickett County, TN on August 2, 1949. A dedicated family man, Gary leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to his family and friends.

He was the ninth child born to the late James Garfield Flowers and Mary Opal Goldsmith Flowers. Gary proudly served in the Army, exemplifying a spirit of duty and service to his country which remained a source of pride throughout his life. His experiences shaped him into a compassionate and community-oriented individual, qualities that endeared him to those around him.

Gary is survived by his son, Stephin Flowers and daughter-in-law Toni Spegal, his beloved grandson, Christopher Flowers and Wendy, the best dog in the world. Gary's family extends to a cherished group of siblings who will remember him fondly: Edna Roseline Flowers Wyatt-Collins (Marlin Collins), Violet Kay Flowers Grimes (Harvey Grimes), and Lynda Iris Flowers Jackson (Jeff Jackson); along with numerous nieces and nephews, brother in law don (Sandra) Farr, good friends and the church family from Mountain View Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Betty Farr Flowers; and his siblings, Raymond James Flowers (Thelma Hall), Daisy Elizabeth Flowers King (Estill King), Charles Edgar Flowers (Patricia Cox), Granville Udell Flowers (Patricia Cincotti), Lily Marie Flowers Clark (Dennis Clark), and David Harold Flowers (Jeanne Martin).

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with Military Honors.

Gary Lynne Flowers will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life. Psalm 1:1-3
