COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Gerald Wayne Gore of Algood, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Grandview Nursing Home in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Gerald was born Friday, September 27, 1946 to parents Roy and Edna Huddleston Gore in Algood, Tennessee. He attended all twelve years of school at Algood High School and graduated in 1966. After finishing school, Gerald enlisted in the US Air Force where he served eight years.

In 1969, he married Mary Rose Hollman of Cookeville. While in the Air Force, they were stationed in Guam and in Montana. They had three children Jerry, Rhonda and Billy.

After his military service, he and Rose returned home to live in Algood. Gerald retired after many years of service with the City of Cookeville. He was a true outdoorsman who loved deer hunting, vegetable gardening and keeping an immaculate lawn. In his younger years he loved dancing at the Smithville Fiddlers' Jamboree where he won first place many competitions.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Edna Gore of Algood, as well as his sister Anna Ruth, and two infant brothers Walter and Kenneth.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Rose, children Jerry, Rhonda and Billy, brother Harold and wife Reba and sister Brenda Richardson as well as several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors is planned for Saturday May 24 at 3:00 pm in the Algood City Cemetery.
