A Celebration of Life for Gerald Thomas Padgett, age 72, of Cookeville, will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Steve Tiebout and Bro. Joe Wiles will officiate.
His family will receive friends Monday from 4 p.m. until service time.
Gerald passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at his home.
He was born Dec. 24, 1949, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Granville Padgett and Juanita Brown Padgett Frogge McCrobie.
Gerald was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired veteran of the Tennessee Army National Guard.
He worked in quality control at TTI in Cookeville. Away from work, he enjoyed spending time on the lake and traveling.
Gerald was a Baptist minister having served as pastor and interim pastor at area churches including, Colonial View Baptist Church, Verble Baptist Church, and Central Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a volunteer hospital chaplain. More recently, Gerald attended Stevens Street Baptist Church, The River, and Cookeville First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gina Rennell Padgett; children, Denise Padgett (Markus Lauron) of San Francisco, California, Erin (Jason) Kirouac of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Abby (Curtis) Prichard of Hermitage, Tennessee, and Billy Sunday of Cookeville; grandchildren, Peyton Lauron, Taylor and Brooklyn Kirouac, and Evelyn Prichard; brothers, Jim (Billie Jean) Padgett of Nashville, Ronnie (Wanda) Padgett of Chattanooga; and nieces, Janice (Bryan) Ware, Jennifer Padgett, Eva (Jospeh) Fuller and Tricia (Chris) Broom.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Enoch and Mary Brown, and son, Jonathan Padgett.
