Gerald Woolbright

Funeral services for Anthony Gerald Woolbright, age 79 of Rickman, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday December 11 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Tyler Gaw will officiate. Interment will follow at Netherland Cemetery.

His family will receive friends Sunday from 12 p.m. until time of services.

Gerald passed away suddenly Thursday December 8, 2022 at his home.

He was born April 14, 1943 at home in the Dodson Branch Community of Putnam County to Ellie Smith Woolbright of Rickman and the late Anthon Woolbright.

Gerald was a US Army veteran. He was retired from Thomas Industries with over 40 years of service.

Gerald enjoyed his 1964 Chevy Impala and attending local antique car shows. He loved his family which extended to brothers in-law, sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, and especially his grandchildren who affectionately knew him best as "Poppy G."

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Glenda Miller Woolbright, whom he married July 3, 1964 in Livingston; son, Tony (Tina) Woolbright of Rickman; daughter, Tonia (Billy) Sells of Rickman; sister, Lisa (David) Swallows of Rickman; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Dakota) Jones, Anthony (Ashley) Woolbright, Marlee Sells, Myla Sells, Matthew Sells, Dakota Woolbright, Kris (Leigh) Bybee, Kayla (Will) Tenpenny, Kelsi Farris, Josh (Abby) Copeland, Matt (Melissa) Copeland; great grandchildren, Ellie, Lilli, Oliver, Luke, Jack, Magnolia, River, Layne, Layla and Brody.
