Geraldine Wilmoth Lee, a lady of faith and love, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, at the age of 96 in Cookeville, TN. Born on August 30, 1927, in Putnam Co, TN, Geraldine was a woman whose life was a testament to her loving nature and unwavering faith.
Geraldine was a cherished member of the community, known for her friendly demeanor and kind spirit. She dedicated many years of her life as a factory worker and homemaker, roles in which she excelled and found great purpose. Her education began at Rocky Point School, where she laid the foundation for a life of learning and growth.
A gifted seamstress, Geraldine found joy in art and the act of creating. Her hands were rarely still, often busy sewing beautiful pieces for her loved ones and those in need. Her faith was central to her life; she was a devout member of the Church of God and attended several area churches through the years, where she formed lasting bonds with her church family.
Geraldine's greatest enjoyment came from sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a passion she expressed through handing out tracts and engaging in heartfelt conversations about her beliefs.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her sons, Danny (Tammy) Wilmoth and Kenny Wilmoth, both of Cookeville; her step-children, Dennis Lee, Anthony "Tony" Lee and Lori Mitton of Michigan and Dave Lee of MO; her grandchildren, Brian Neal, Brad Neal, Jessica Jean, Jamie Lee, and Beka Mitton; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Delly Jackson Farley; her husbands, Norman Clarence Wilmoth and Cheerful Edward Lee; her brothers, DC and Glen Farley; and her sisters, Opal and Pauline.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Monday, August 26th from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Clayton Lee, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-7pm, and again on Monday from 10am until the time of Services.
Geraldine Wilmoth Lee will be remembered as a loving, faith-filled, and friendly soul who touched the lives of many. Her memory will be cherished and her presence deeply missed.
