BAXTER CHAPEL-Glenn Roy Robertson, a respected community member, military veteran, retired civil servant, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the NHC Healthcare Center Cookeville. He was born on November 13, 1936, in Baxter, Tennessee, and lived a life dedicated to service, family, and his passions.
Glenn had distinguished career, having proudly served in the Navy for 20 years. His military service was followed by a career with the Army Corps of Engineers and concluded with his retirement from the City of Cookeville in 2001. In addition to his government roles, he worked at Villa Bros. Equipment doing small engine repair, displaying his hands-on skills and commitment to helping those in the community.
Glenn was a man of many interests, Glenn had a love for all sports. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed tending his garden, fixing anything mechanical and telling a good story. Give Glenn a good book, a good music record or a good western show and he was happy, but he was happiest when he was with his family. He really valued his family and expressed his awe and pride in the people they grew to become.
Family was paramount in Glenn's life. He is survived by his children, Anicia Britland of Hawaii, Alex (Mercy) Gaerlan of FL, Gilda (Danny) Puniesto of Washington State and Edgar (Rosetta) Robertson of FL. They brought him immense pride and joy. Glenn was also blessed with 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished his wisdom and love. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Sue Lowe of Baxter and Jan Jacobson of New Mexico, who share fond memories of their brother's wonderful spirit.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Bessie Mae Prichard Robertson, his beloved wife of 46 years, Sofia Guerrero Robertson, who left this world on August 11, 2017, and his daughter, Maria Tita Gaerlan. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jerry Robertson, Laura Nell Robertson, and Jimmie Ray Robinson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 5th at 1PM at Baxter Chapel Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, 532 4th Ave South, Baxter, TN. Interment with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 5PM to 8PM and Tuesday 11AM until service time. Bro. Tim Sharp will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Chua, Rod Gaerlan, Odnie Chua, Adrian Guba, Will Robertson and Arnie Chua.
His legacy of service, dedication to family leaves a lasting impact on all who knew him. Glenn Roy Robertson will be remembered as a loving father, cherished grandfather, precious brother, friend and a steadfast community member who touched the lives of many throughout his journey.
